Right, busy to the neck of the bottle it seems. Two
colleagues quitting one following another in a time space of a week meant more
duties for me to take over before a new colleague joins the ship. O yes, this definitely calls for a good shriek ->I just
finished my team presentation today in front of a crowd of 20 people? Guess I
am slowly overcoming my fear of stage fright.
To worsen my woes, SERI is relocating to Academia block at
end of this February, this meant a hell lot of packing to be done. [I would be the only statistician left at this
old duke NUS] Well, not that I have a lot of stuffs myself (probably just a
box) but all the other stats textbooks and reference materials amount to quite a
lot lor. Aiiiishiiiiii.
On a sidenote. Not sure if it is by chance that I happen to
come across a secondary school friend’s fb status of: “A shoutout to my
commonwealth sec1/3 classmates! If you are not in our wadsapp please pm me!” I
was shocked to see such a FB status, come to think of it, its been 10 years
since we all departed from secondary school, what more from a lower secondary
class (12 years?).
Well, somehow or rather, those friends in my 1/3 class, we
slowly drifted apart as we each went to upper sec class and hardly/never
contacted since then. I only hang out with my sec4 clique of which none of them
are from 1/3.
I was still chiding at the fact that some of them could be
my facebook friends and yet they din know that Lance Ong was actually Peng
Guan? Wells, probably none of my posts appear on their news feed at all. But
some of you liked my fb pics lor. And even though I saw your shoutout, I was
reluctant to pm you because it would probably be real awkward even if I did. I
would probably remain silent in the wadsapp chat group even if I am added in. Probably
best if things stay this way? But I will
still keep my eye on your facebook status for any updates on css1/3.
This is the SS upload on FB which I came across. Perhaps
ignorance would be bliss, that I never came across that facebook status.
On a sidenote, below is a picture taken at the farewell dinner at Seasonal Salad Bar for colleagues Huiqi and Jiemin. Best luck for your future careers~ Oh, and the food was awesome, free flow salad bar offers a wide variety of options (pasta, salad, soup, sphagetti, ice cream) food galore definitely. Thanks to the boss for the treat!
Also, a shriekout to Nicholas: Have fun in Beijing and see you back real soon! :)
Hmm, on a brighter note, gonna look forward to an eventful weekend of cycling! O YEAH~
